How we look after your details

SK Badminton Hub runs badminton tournaments. This page says what we keep about players and organisers, why, who sees it and for how long.

Who we are

The tournaments on this site are run by SK Badminton Hub.

What we keep, and why

  • Your account: name, email, password (stored scrambled, never readable), and if you add them, phone, club and county. Used to sign you in and to contact you about tournaments you've entered.
  • Tournament entries: the player's name, club, email, Badminton England number (if given), gender (for the right event) and check-in times on the day. Used to make the draws, run the day and keep results.
  • Results: scores, draws and who won, kept as each tournament's record.
  • Face ID / fingerprint sign-in (if you switch it on): your face or fingerprint never leaves your phone. We keep only a key your phone proves it holds (website), or a scrambled copy of a key kept in your phone's Keychain (iPhone app).
  • iPhone app notifications (if you allow them): the phone's notification address, linked to your account while you're signed in, to tell you when your match goes on court. Signing out unlinks it.
  • Camera: used only while you scan a QR code; no pictures are taken or kept.
  • Cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one security cookie for forms. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Who can see it

  • Everyone: player names and clubs in draws, live courts and results.
  • The tournament's organisers and helpers: the entry details above, to run the day.
  • Nobody else. We don't sell or share your details, and there are no adverts. Email is sent through the club's own email provider; iPhone notifications through Apple.

Children

Many players are juniors. A parent or guardian should create and look after the account of a child under 13, and we only ask for what's needed to run the tournament. Only names and clubs are shown publicly.

How long we keep it

  • Player accounts not used for 12 months are closed, after an email warning 30 days before (signing in keeps it open).
  • Closing or deleting an account removes the login, email, phone, club, Face ID and notification links. Results stay under the name entered for each tournament, as part of its record.
  • Any medical, emergency or guardian details collected for a tournament are deleted 30 days after it.

Your choices

  • See or correct your details: My settings → Your details.
  • Delete your account at any time: My settings → Delete my account (on the website or in the app).
  • Switch off Face ID sign-in or notifications in My settings, the app, or your phone's settings.
  • Anything else, or a copy of what we hold about you: ask the tournament organiser. You can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
